Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy in Denver
In-person pelvic health care at Push Gym + remote options
Pelvic health care that fits the rest of your life
So many women AND men deal with issues like urinary leakage, urgency to get to the bathroom, pelvic pain, and pain with intimacy. The good news is, we don’t need to live with these issues! Many pelvic floor problems have been normalized (hello, moms who can’t run without peeing themselves) or feel too embarrassing to talk about.
So what does pelvic floor treatment involve? The pelvic floor doesn’t exist by itself. I look at how the pelvic floor is functioning along with your hips, back, abdominals, breathing, and the activities and workouts you actually want to get back to without symptoms.
My goal is to help you understand what is contributing to your issues, and treat the whole system together.
Common issues pelvic floor PT can treat:
- Urinary leakage, urgency or frequency
- Pelvic pain or pain with intercourse
- Pregnancy and postpartum recovery
- Prolapse symptoms or pelvic pressure
- Post-prostatectomy
- Returning to lifting, running or higher-impact exercise
- Hip, back or abdominal pain that hasn’t resolved with regular PT
- Male pelvic health such as testicular or penile pain
In person in Denver + remote options
I offer in-person pelvic floor physical therapy at Push Gym, 38 E 5th Ave, Denver, CO 80203.
I also offer remote pelvic health consulting/coaching, and remote physical therapy is offered where appropriate and permitted. You can see my general PT and remote-service details on the Services page.
What treatment can look like
We will talk through your symptoms and goals, assess the pelvic floor and synergistic muscle groups that contribute to pelvic floor issues, and build a plan around what you need. The assessment isn’t only about the pelvic floor—we will be looking at full body movements and how the pelvic floor coordinates during activity.
Pelvic floor treatment may include an internal examination when appropriate and with your consent, but there are also plenty of non-direct treatment options if you opt out.
Treatment often includes personalized exercises, strength programming, breathing and pressure-management strategies, hands-on techniques, education and a home program.
